The Science & Technology Film Festival statuettes were designed with a minimalist, minimalist, and deliberately austere form. Their construction utilizes thousands of light points and optical fibers, transforming each statuette into a unique optical object. Over 10 kilometers of fiber optic cable were used to create a single statuette , highlighting both the technological nature of the project and the precision of its craftsmanship.
Light passing through the statuette's structure transforms the real image into a distorted, digital composition spread across thousands of dots. This symbolic transition between the real and digital worlds evokes the festival's ideal—a place where cinema meets science and technology , where reality can be observed and interpreted from a completely new perspective. Each statuette is not only an award but also an object combining light, technology, and image —three elements at the heart of the Science & Technology Film Festival.
The author of the statuettes is Dr. Stanisław Juszczak from the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Faculty of Industrial Design.
Neil Armstrong's Theremin Album
Music out of the Moon by Les Baxter and Samuel Hoffman was a theremin album that expressed the exotic fantasy of early 1950’s out space. Early and very influential exotica. A favorite of Neil Armstrong and his wife. He brought selections from this album on a cassette to the moon.
